Rachel Rutter represents clients in employment and business litigation matters.  She excels in offering guidance to clients on a variety of employment-related matters, including addressing day-to-day employment inquiries and resolving issues or disputes before litigation arises. Rachel also drafts and negotiates employment-related agreements, including employment agreements, non-compete agreements, and severance agreements.

She has also regularly represented clients before licensing, credentialing, administrative and regulatory boards.

In addition, she is an experienced trial attorney who has represented both employees and employers in high stakes employment litigation stemming from contract disputes, discrimination claims, and other employment matters. Rachel has achieved several positive verdicts on behalf of her clients, with one of them remaining the most substantial racial discrimination verdict in Missouri’s history. Her extensive courtroom and trial expertise provides her clients with invaluable insight and a competitive edge, as does the invaluable experience she gained early in her career by representing plaintiffs in legal disputes against their employers.

While prioritizing early resolutions for her clients, Rachel remains unwavering in her commitment to taking cases to trial when necessary. She fully comprehends the stress and risks associated with litigation and consistently endeavors to achieve the most favorable outcomes for her clients.

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish from William Woods University (MO) in 2013 and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (“UMKC”) School of Law in 2016. While in law school, Rachel was a member of both the UMKC law review and UMKC’s nationally-ranked competition mock trial team. Originally from the Kansas City, MO area, Rachel married a native Austinite and was very shortly thereafter convinced to relocate to Austin. As the saying goes, she wasn’t born here, but she got here as quick as she could. When she’s not working, you can find Rachel spending time with her wife and daughter, enjoying one of the many local Austin restaurants, spending time outdoors, or watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
