Taylor McCarty represents clients throughout Texas in complex commercial litigation and business disputes. Her practice focuses on high-stakes litigation matters, including products and premises liability claims, contract disputes, and consumer protection cases. She brings a strategic approach to complex litigation while maintaining focus on practical solutions that advance her clients’ business objectives.

Taylor’s expertise spans both public and private sector litigation, having served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas where she handled constitutional, civil rights, and employment matters of first impression. Her trial experience ranges from state administrative hearings to complex federal litigation, including a successful defense verdict as lead counsel in a week-long jury trial for a state agency.

Prior to joining RRS, Taylor’s corporate counsel experience at Freescale Semiconductor/NXP Semiconductors gave her valuable insight into the business implications of legal decisions. She managed nationwide litigation while providing practical guidance on risk management and corporate governance.

Taylor earned both her undergraduate degree with Honors in Plan II and her law degree from The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, she clerked for Justice Woodie Jones and Justice David Puryear at the Third Court of Appeals, gaining invaluable perspective on appellate advocacy.

Throughout her career, Taylor has demonstrated commitment to both legal excellence and community service. She chaired a former employer’s annual United Way fundraising campaign for five consecutive years, helping to strengthen the firm’s community involvement while maintaining a thriving litigation practice. Taylor is a proud native Texan, originally from Midland, moved to Austin for college, and never left. She lives with her husband and three children in Westlake.  She is an avid sports fan, from weekends at youth baseball tournaments, cheering on her daughter’s collegiate softball team, to fall Saturdays at DKR watching the Texas Longhorns.  She is an accomplished equestrian, and might rather being doing that, but don’t tell anyone.
